A song of praise and gratitude to God, performed beautifully in this clip by the South Pacific International Christian Centre

Hi…..I have the lyrics, now I need the traditional tune to:

‘Fa’afetai i le Atua’ – the version with the chorus ‘ia pepese ia pepese alleluia fa’aetai’

Can anyone help me please. i have one copy of a version I got yesterday from Australia, sadly it’s not the one. My phone number is 0272247149.If you can help I would be most grateful.

Thanks, and many blessings

Keith Tago

Doesn’t the line end; “ia te tatou uma NEI”?

Moira

Yes that’s what I thought, I can sing this without looking at the words, there’s 2 fati (versions) to this hymn. My mum used to sing the old version which was the hard one. May God test her soul , this reminds me of her and the other members of the family who have passed on.

Sometimes when we hear hymns such as this, it doesn’t face us a bit, and then there are those special moments when you hear it again, memories of families floods the mind and soul, when waking up in morning prayers and evening praise singing this song.

Its always nice to be reminded of the beginning and roots when hearing these old hymnal through the clutters of life.

Gabriel

Malo ni,

At the end of the first verse I believe it’s missing “nei”. In the accompanying video they seem to sing it but the word is missing from the lyrics.

Cheers
