Moe i Le Po Pa Le Faititili

Traditional | 2 comments

This used to be a popular ma’uluulu song, performed by a group of tama’ita’i. It’s about waking with a start (because of the lightening oustide) and suddenly remembering that you’re alone.

Moe i le po, pa le faititili

O’u nofo loa i luga
manatua la’u miti
Fa’asolo loa o’u mafaufauga
fa’apea ita ai o ta aluluga

Ae leai, ua o’u se_se ia oe dear
E fa’asaga lava o si o’u puapuagatia
Ae sau, ua mo’omia oe la’u dear
Aumai se ma’a, ta u’ulima ae togia

Tau moe atu ae lemafai
Ona o si ou fia lagolago mai
Oso ai loa lo’u masalosalo
fa’apea ita ai o ta’ua aafu

(repeat..Ae leai ua ou se_se ia oe dear)

La’u pele ea, malie ia lou loto
O se moevavale o le ti’apolo
E fa’aosooso pea i si ou loto
Ina ia lepetia ai oe ma a’u
ua se_se lea manatu si a’u dear
O lo’u naunau ia tasi pea o i ta’ua
Ae sau ia, ta u’ulima, ta fiafia
Aumai se ma’a ta u’ulima, ae ou togia
