Our love was beautiful, everything was going so well… and then suddenly things just fell apart. Now what?
(Tu’ua le Masaniga)
Sa fausiaina lenei alofa
ia ta’ua upu ma o ta lagona
vai malu o’u moomooga
faliu maia lau afioga
Ina ua tu’ua le masaniga
lea sou lape o sou uiga
le malilie ai lou aiga
le alofa sa tausiaina
Oi dear ea poo lea a sau tali
Le mautonu ua sautualasi
faitio mai lo’u nofo toatasi
le popole ma le maasiasi
Ua e alu ma fai au tala
Lo’u aiga aafia fua lava
le feagai o oe ma ita
lalelei tele ou foliga
{ TALI }
Lou manamea se’i tautala maia ea
po o le a e alu, faapefea… o o
Soia, o na pau o lenei olaga
e tutusa ma ni faamatalaga
Ua e seu alofaaga
Tafea ita i le moana
E leaga o lenei olaga
e manatu a e faatauvaa
sili o le oa le tama o aiga
malilie ai lou aiga
A o oe ma sou lagona
E tauia lenei alofa
I se aso pe a umi le ola
Faigata ou manaoga
Alu ia oe a e toe fo’i ita
mea tiga ua e tuuai maia
sili o le oti nai o le uaina
faatoilalo ma le faalumaina
po o le sei ma le ta feagaiga
natia ifo ae malu tia ita
Ia mou atu o lou tino
Faiva o Fiti ia lililo
{ TALI }
Ia taua upu ma o ta lagona
Ina ua tuua le masaniga
Lea sou lape ma sou uiga
Le malilie ai lou aiga
Le mautonu ua sautualasi
Faitio mai lou nofotoatasi
Le popole ma le maasiasi
Ua e alu ma fai ou tala
Lo’u aiga aafia fua lava
Le feagai ooe ma ita
Lalelei tele ou foliga
Mea tiga ua e tuuai maia
A ooe ma sou lagona
Sili o le oti nai loo le uaina
Natia ifo ae malu tia ita
Ia mou atu o lou tino
Faiva o Fiti ia lililo
Malo HGG,
You’re probably puzzled by the comments I’m leaving years after you’ve posted them. Regretfully I’m only now passing through them and your articles inspire and intrique me so much that I’m reading them all tonight…and searching for more. Do you have any other blogs or a facebook page that I can read up on? I love learning more about our amazing culture and seeing this song almost had me in tears. I had a family reunion in Napier this past Christmas and at the end of 3 wonderful days with the family, we all stood in a huge circle holding hands and sang this song. As I sit here thousands of miles away, it really made me long for the culture I’ve missed out on for almost 30 years. I hope you’ve continued to write or even publish something for others like myself to read to bring us closer to home. Thank you- you have an avid fan.

Lol aww hi Eag264. Sorry I just found this comment of yours. Thank you for your kind words. I love learning about our culture and try to share what I can (when I have a moment to write). My blog is here: https://samoan-lyrics.com/manaui/ … but I’m not the most consistent writer, I’m afraid lol..
I shall endeavour though to do better. Your enthusiasm for what I’ve written so far is inspiring…
Oh, and thank you for joining the ville!
Hope to see you around maybe in our forums or even in a blog of your own 🙂
