This poet is eloquently expressing fear that this love might be over.
A ‘o alo atu lau afioga pele ia ‘oaoga
A ‘o alo atu lau afioga pele ia ‘oaoga
A e ui i lea o le a ou fa’atali pea
Se upu e pa’u mai i lou fofoga oe o la’u manamea
Ua e tu’u i fa’amatalaga e le aoga
A e te le o manatua o lo’u pologa i le timu ma le la
A e te le o manatua o lo’u pologa i le timu ma le la

Taute and Sosefina of are the same person. She is a beautiful Samoan woman who stole the heart of a man who got the (one) composer of the two songs to compose these love songs for her. Among family members, she is known as “Josie”. Small world, huh?
“Sosefina” is NOT a Fijian song. It is a Samoan song and it has a sister song: “Taute…” And yes, Taute and Sosefina (Josie) are one and the same.
