An anthem of pride and patriotism about beautiful Samoa. This song is often sung in large church and family gatherings.ย
ย Lo ta nu’u na ou fanau ai
Ua lelei oe i le vasa e
Ua e maua ai mai luga o le tofi aoga
{ SAMOANA }
Samoana, ala mai
Fai ai nei le fa’afetai
I le pule e maua ai
O lo’u nu’u i le vasa e
E ua lalelei Samoa
Lona valevale noa
E mo’omia ai ou

Ua sui lou tautai
Lou mamalu ia mau ai

After listening to this song i started to wonder, where i was when i first heard this song Then realise’d i was actually sitting under the big gum tree at an assembly during my time at Malifa primary. That was 21 years ago haha. Where and when did you here this song ? Would be interesting to see the reply’s.
First heard it when we learnt it at school in Wellington NZ at Samoan club practice…this was 1992! Dam im getting old!
A song of pride and patriotism. May our gracious father in heaven continues to clothe all samoans with his love and guidance unconditionally!!
Samoans are of infinite worth… Our heavenly father loves each andevery one of us. He knows us!! Our grieves, frustration, disappointments, wants, needs, and especially our unrewarded efforts!! Samoa famumua letua, e famumua foi letua samoa.
After every family or church event Lo ta nu’u is sang… It makes everyone emotional & sad, its hard to leave everyone that you love.. Also remembering the people of Samoa that lost their lives in the 2009 tsunami, Rest in Love.
Does anyone know how old this song is? wondering if it is in the public domain. We’re making a CD of multicultural music for our hospital and would like to include something from Samoa.
