E le matalasi, o lenei olaga
Na o le Atua lava
E to’atasi le foafoaga
Fa’aopo i le vao
u’a i le palapala
A’o lona alofa
ua e laei i mea uma lava
{ CHORUS }
Ona o’o mai lea o le oti
I le le fa’autauta,
Pulea e le Atua i mea uma
Maufaufau mai ia oe
o ana meaalofa
Pule oe i lau
lava faamasinoga
Ia e usita’i i le Atua
i lau fa’aiuga
Le ulua’i tagata
na sese i le fa’amaualuga
Ona o’o mai lea o le oti
I le le fa’autauta,
Pulea e le Atua o mea uma
Fai ma mao’i o nisi
I le fia tagata
Fia poto manatu
fia sili ua na o ia lava
Le malosi e pei ona vaaia
i le tupulaga
Lo ta saolotoga
nei malemo i le tai o vasa
Ona o’o mai lea o le oti
I le le fa’autauta,
Pulea e le Atua i mea uma

Thank you for making this website. This song,”pule aoao le atua” is hands down my favorite samoan song. I appreciate you guys making this website because I am one of the thousands of samoans that doesn’t speak samoan good. I can understand some, and speak some, but not good. It really makes me feel good to know we have a strong community out there cares to keep all of us samoans that don’t speak samoan lelei, on top. Love this site.

OMG OU TE MANATUA LE PESE
Back in 02 when i was in Cali, i was only 13 years old. That time i was joining a gang. I was living with my grandmother that time cuz my parents went back to see my brother who was 18 at the time, he had been deported. So one day i was eating cereal just about to go to school and as i was about to go out the door. I saw my grandma watching VHS tapes from 2 years before that year. She was in Samoa with my older cousins listening to that song making jokes, singing, and while drinking. I was just listening to it. I felt the vibe from the song.So I walked out the door told her goodbye and went to school. After school i went straight to the gangs, they gave me stuff to sell, and i got money during that moment i was selling. I look at the car that was pulling up. then the window rolls down. and a guy dressed in black pulls out a gun and shoots me twice. they drove away. All i was thinking of was my grandma,my parents, my brother, and the song. Luckily, to this day i’m not in gangs anymore and i’m raising my children the correct way, and still listening to the song
I love this song. I’ve only heard Lapi Mariner’s version of the song growing up in Long Beach with my usos. When I was 13 years old I wanted to joined the gangs just like my brother who was in jail for robbery. When my mom found out, we had a big argument. I told her to shut the f up. I watched her cry on the couch. I regret saying that to her. Nobody would do that to their mom like that. I apologized to her and hugged her, 1 month later we moved outta state to New Zealand. New people, new school, shit was hard for me. 3 months later I fell in love with this beautiful NZ girl named Hinewai. She was same age with me that time. She showed me the song. I didn’t know much about samoan songs. The last time I heard a samoan song that time was when I was 5. My brother was deported 2 months later. I was very very sad, my mom was sad too. I didn’t have a father, he died before I was born. Anyways, Hinewai showed me the song, I loved it. I was taught samoan from her family. They loved me and they helped me and my mom. I sang that song to my mom 4 months later. She was happy I knew samoan and she was happy we were doing good in school. Me and Hinewai married a couple years later and had kids. We taught them how to speak samoan. I love this song it helped me alot.that whole year I loved jt.
Malokai and kona same here I joined the gangs when I was 12. It was in NZ tho. I had heard this song alot. Actually it’s my favorite song of all time. Had a hard life growing up, my father was deported for home Invasion and drug trafficking. My mother divorced him and moved on with my stepdad. He’s the reason I listen to samoan music. He thought me samoan. I didnt even know my own culture, my language, and music. He showed me this song which became my all time fav. Now I’m doing good, raisin my kidz with samoan culture here in NZ, they also know Maori like their mum.
Hey Fatu u meant to say taught not thought. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh thanks brotha
Fatu is ur last name Segi
Yes why
Could sombody translate for me the line ‘I le le fa’autauta’ to english
Faautauta means faith, so this line is talking about having no faith.
It makes more sense when you add the lines before this one. It’s a warning to those who are disobedient and proud, that when death comes to the unfaithful, God’s will will prevail.
Something like that :).
